Most people would think that acne is just part of growing up. Acne is commonly seen among teenagers who are going through puberty. Luckily, they later disappear when you grow older. However, there are a lot of adults who seem to have never gotten past puberty and still have pimples all over their face. Some even have it worse with pimples found all over their body. What most individuals are not aware of is the fact that acne found on body parts other than the face could be a sign that there may be something wrong with the way your body is functioning.
Check out what acne on different parts of your body means:
1. Bottom
Acne on this area could mean that your underwear may be too tight. It could also mean that you are not properly cleaning the skin on that area.
2. Chin and neck
Consuming too much cheese, yogurt, or other milk products can cause acne to pop up in these areas. Sometimes, it may also be caused by overproduction of cortisol by your adrenal glands. This usually happens when you’re feeling stressed.
3. Shoulders and back
Pimples on the upper back and shoulders can indicate gastrointestinal issues. You should opt to drink more water and refrain from eating processed food.
4. Chest
Chest acne signifies that you have too much male hormones. Women can opt to take birth-control pills if they have pimples on their chest.
5. Elbows
Acne on your elbows could mean that you are experiencing an allergic reaction or have a fungal infection. Try consulting a dermatologist if the problem persists.
6. Abdomen
Your body might be telling you that you’re eating too much sugar. Try cutting down on sweets if you don’t want to have diabetes.
7. Legs
Though acne rarely appears on the legs, it is usually a sign that your body lacks the proper vitamins. It could also just be an allergic reaction to cosmetic products such as lotion or leg makeup.
If you are experiencing any of these, it’s still best for you to seek medical help before doing anything drastic. Share your thoughts on this article in the comments section and don’t forget to share this on Facebook!
