ATTENTION GIRLS: If These Happens To You During Your Period, You’re In Danger

Our periods are always trying to send us messages, even if we aren’t paying attention. While there is no such thing as the perfect period, there are definitely factors that point to whether we are healthy.
Well, it’s time to start noticing these subtle shifts and attributes, like abnormally heavy or light periods, in order to see if there are any imbalances which need to be addressed.
Here are the hidden dangers that can happen during your monthly periods:
* Light Menstrual Flow
Unless you are on pills or other hormonal contraceptives, menstrual flow should be regular. Light flow (or having regular menstrual flows that are much lighter than usual) could mean issues with the thyroid and/or pituitary glands. If you always had regular flows that suddenly become light, consult a doctor.
* Severe, Unbearable Cramps
A lot of women experience cramps before their period starts; often, this pain goes away once the blood flow begins; however, if you are always experiencing severe and unbearable cramps, it would be best to consult a doctor as you might be having hormonal problems or some other dangerous condition.
* Sudden Bleeding Within the Cycle
You should only be bleeding at the expected time at the end of your cycle (as it marks the start of the new cycle) but if you experiencing spotting or bleeding at the middle of the cycle, it is best to consult a doctor as this could mean cervical or uterine polyps. While these are not always dangerous, some could indicate cancer.
* Delayed Menstrual Cycle
Unless you are pregnant, delayed menstrual cycle is not a good sign. This could mean hormonal issues that your doctor can best address if you visit him/her early. If your period is always delayed or only occurs every few months, it is possible that you might have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a common disorder in women of child-bearing age. Such could actually cause infertility.
* Changes in Color of Menstrual Discharge
Normal menstrual discharge should be as red as cranberry juice – if it is not the case and you are experiencing very light- or very dark-colored discharge, consult your doctor as this could be a sign of estrogen imbalance and other medical issues.
