After Watching How Gummy Candies and Jelly Ace are Really Made, You’ll Never Eat Them Again

If you are especially fond to gummy worms, gummy bears, or peach rings, and simply cannot avoid having them from time to time, the video we are presenting today will help you a lot with this.

Namely, the following short film by a Belgian filmmaker Alina Kneepkens will dramatically change the way you look at gummy candies.

Alina shows the process of production of these candies in intense details, and it will definitely keep you far away from them.

It is a part of a series of videos documenting the disastrous conditions under which our food is produced. Some of the other videos investigate the content of the black pudding, and a rabbit with plums, which is a typical Belgian dish.

Watch the video below. WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT.

The graphic clip shows the process of gelatin production in reverse which includes pig carcasses being stripped of their skin to create the ingredient. Instead of disposing pig’s skin, the meat industry uses it to produce collagen.

Initially, the pig carcasses are torched and stripped of their skin, and afterward boiled down to give the flavorless ingredient. The process also uses the bones, tendons, and ligaments in order to concoct the substance.

This video etitled “Gelatin – the Real Story”, has garnered more than seven million views in three days and sparked a heated debate.

While most user were disgusted, others understand what the video was trying to imply.

“Most candy is made from bi products of animals. I dont belive you will stop eat candy and sweets. They dont slughter pigs for candy. They take whats left from the food industry,” said one netizen.

Gelatin is the same ingredient used in the production of gummy bears, cola bottles, marshmallows and ice creams.
